Are We Really One Nation?
Defending Religious Freedom.
We live in a culture increasingly hostile to Christians and their faith. America has become a nation where public schools are prohibited from praying, acknowledging their dependence upon God, and forming religious clubs; where schools and communities are challenged from displaying nativity scenes, the Ten Commandments, and other symbols of our religious and moral heritage. Are we as a whole involved in a massive removal of our convictions? Have we decided that a few that disagree shall take from us our very core of society? It is now simply "One Nation Under Siege". To stand up for Christianity we are called "fanatics". I sat recently in a local restaurant and a family of six or so came in,sat down and said grace before stepping to the counter to order. Others in the establishment heckled. I was at that moment appalled and fuming mad. Then something changed my outlook completely. A small child with the group heckling said to the others(all older teens and adults)"Dont laugh at them, they know Jesus ." I was speechless. I saw a child maybe 6 years old bring time to a sudden halt . You could hear a pin drop. Not another word said amongst the patrons within hearing distance. Small miracles. Thats what we need. Someone to stand up regardless of their age or size, That child was a Giant in my eyes that day.

For some reason the religious right seems head over heels about playing victim. Public schools do not ban prayer, the acknowledgment of Christ or formation of religious clubs. Students can pray to themselves silently, speak about God when the teacher isn't preparing students for a major math exam and religious clubs are allowed before and after school, as is the same with other student-created campus organizations.
I don't know where you get your facts from, but you're wrong.
Actually Shawn if you read the article you will find yourself in error, not me, The article plainly states that "Public Schools are Prohibited". It did not say "Students". So thank you for visiting and read carefully before you comment.
What is the difference? Are you saying you want our public schools to mirror religious schools?
Imagine this, A Christian based student organization of students having a fund raiser for their schools football team. Or a Muslim based , or Buddhist,or Jewish or whatever. It could be just the break this world needs. All religions joining together in friendship starting at the Student level. Maybe we could learn to see through our differences and peacefully co-exist.Or maybe we could all respect each others religious beliefs and go on with our lives.A little prayer (however you believe) is inspirational.Calming.A closeness to your God can be quite soothing. You should try it. I think I'll even mention you in my next one, just for good measure of course.
And why are you praying for me? Also, what makes you think I don't already pray?
I have seen no reason to Question your beliefs.I am not one to judge others. I am only offering prayer as a means of friendship. Dont friends pray for others to have good fortune? If you are offended I offer my apologies.Your beliefs are yours. Im not one of the "Fire and Brimstone" types. Just a simple person with a simple task. To go my own way, with my saviour Jesus Christ as my guide. I dont preach to others, I just speak my mind.
