Im glad you asked that Question. I personally dont see that the vehicles are what was necessarily needed. But at the price Im told, I dont think it was one that should have been passed up.The City can utilize the trucks for all types of uses. They are fuel efficient(Diesel) and one they have currently are 10 years old and needs replacing. Four door crew cab is a bit extravagant, but once again, at the price Im told is correct,a single cab is even more expensive.

I think it is a waste of taxpayers money and they dont need them. I want the Mayor to explain to the taxpayers as to why the City of Hudson bought those trucks. they now have got 3 of them big pickups and could get by with small gas saving vehicles. Toyota or Mazda or something like that. And who drives them? Where to? I heard that they had a ford suv that was good still, and there is only a few employees and about 7 or 8 trucks. That mayor and city manger need to get gone. We need change. Our City is turning to crap. They dont bring new business in or nothing to help our taxes. Im mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

overkill and they may not be as cheap as you think. If you buy what you don't need is that a savings. Chrome wheels and fancy trim? I don't see Lukin wasteing money like that.

What does the mayor and city manager make? I hear they make more than the Lufin manager. We all know who really gets thing done at Hudson. He needed his truck.

Well I figured a little controversy here. All comments welcome, lets find out what the answers are to your questions by asking our city to respond. Any City employees out there care to respond to the questions asked by our readers?

I may be wrong but It is my understanding that the Mayor does not have a salary. I dont know what the CM makes. Any body out there know the answer? Is it public record? Employee salaries?

Man that was a fast reply. Your comment poped up faster than a cat can lick his ???. I feel that the City Manager made a just decision in the purchase of the trucks myself. They are needed to replace older equipment. I will ask them myself to reply to this forum. I also dont think the mayor is salaried. And as for the City Managers Salary, I dont know if it is public record or not. I will ask them that. And I will post it if my readers request it.

I wish some people knew what they were talking about before they opened there mouth, it's quite embarrasing. First of all the trucks were much needed, second of all i don't feel like it's nobody's business what the salaries are at the city hall in hudson. Your complaining so much about hudson, and this and that i got 2 suggestions for you. 1 if you don't like it do something about it, i bet the people talking trash didn't even VOTE, and 2 if you don't like it MOVE to lufkin..........

Some out there are a little bit perturbed about the new trucks, I can understand the frustration, but if you attend city meetings and other city activities you may realize the needs of a growing city. Hudson is a fast growing and rapidly improving community. There will be times when others are in dismay about certain actions taken by our council and management.Rest assured , it is all in their mind and hearts for the good of our City. With that said, I would also like to comment on some individuals stating that I put this all in this post myself. I can only say that I am not the type to start controversy. I want what is best for this city. My vote was for Robert Smith, and I respect any and all decisions made by him and his administration. I may not agree, at times, but I respect the fact that their decisions are made for the City with all good intentions.

the salaries of elected and non-elected persons working for a government entitity are open records and must be detailed upon request. any position working for the city, county, state or federal government is subject to public scrutiny due to the fact that their salary is paid with tax dollars. this is law.
